Raymond W. (Ray) Walker, a World War II veteran and a lifelong Californian passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 following a lengthy battle with cancer.  Mr. Walker, one month past his 95th birthday died peacefully in his home of 65 years on Main St., Huntington Beach.

Prior to graduating from Huntington Beach High School, Ray met Virginia Fowler who he would marry shortly after completion of his Naval training.  The couple were the parents of two children Katherine (Kitty) and John.

Following time as a Naval Aviator, Ray entered USC and after graduation with a degree in Mechanical Engineering he went onto a highly successful career in that discipline primarily in the field of petroleum engineering.

Ray had many hobbies including following his time in the Navy flying his Stearman biplane, racing as a crewman many times on the legendary Newport to Ensenada Yacht Race and his passion for firearms and hunting including much time spent at the family’s cabin near Panguitch, UT.

The times at his family cabin in Sky Valley (Panguitch, UT) were Ray’s favorite times of his life.  It was here that he and Virginia found their version of happiness.  When Virginia died in 2000, the cabin remained loved but never as special.

Raymond W. Walker is survived by his 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
