My Condolences. I just found out about the twins. I’ve been serving in the Marines and lost track of the twins. They were the Coolest Dudes I’ve ever known. RIP my friends

I competed against Atlas (Phillip) on American Gladiators, in 1992. Specifically, I went head to head with him in "The Joust". He was much bigger and stronger than me, so I had to use strategy and technique to use his own strength, and weight, against him in order to ultimately knock him off. He was very sportsmanlike and he was the first to congratulate me. All of the Gladiators congratulated me, except for Zap. It was particularly satisfying to knock him off, not just because he was such a beast, but because Zap gave him pointers before the show and she yelled at us contestants to go away and not watch the pointers she gave him. So, in my mind, when I had won that competition, I really beat Zap...not the great Atlas. He was obviously a great guy. RIP.

For some reason and I’m not sure why I was compelled to see what my old friend Phil was up to. I never expected to find that he passed away. For a time we were extremely close. We worked together, played together and travelled together. We were very close friends. However we drifted apart ultimately losing contact. Phil was funny, kind and sensitive, I’m profoundly saddened to learn just now he has passed. My sincerest condolences to his brother, John and the rest of his family. Rest In peace my old friend.

Kate, for some reason, I had been thinking of Phil for over 3 months now and wondering how he was doing. I met Phil through Sean Kanan in Los Angeles and we became fast friends. An interesting mix for someone from Ghana in West Africa and Phil from Pennsylvania, as Phil would always comment. I am saddened to hear of his passing and I wish to extend my condolences to you and his family. Phil was a great guy with a big heart. I could go on and on about the times we had in Los Angeles, but I won't. I would tell my late wife stories about our times in LA. He is missed. May he rest in peace.
