Parry, DeLores Ann (Kovarna)

Fountain Valley, Calif. – DeLores Ann Parry, 88, of Fountain Valley, Calif, was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

DeLores Ann Parry was the daughter of James Kovarna and Clara (Hartman) Kovarna was born July 18, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa. DeLores was the sixth child of James and Clara.

DeLores was a native of Sioux City. She was a 1946 graduate of Liberty Union High School where she was a cheerleader and on the girls basketball team. This is where her love of dancing and basketball started. She met her future husband, Wendell Paul Parry, ballroom dancing in Sioux City. They married in 1948 and they resided on their farm in Westfield, Iowa for 18 years.

In 1966 after selling their farm in Iowa, they traveled west to start their new life in Fountain Valley, Calif. and raised their five children. She was so proud of her children and family meant everything to her. DeLores worked as an office manager for a veterinary hospital for 18 years. DeLores loved her flower garden and had an amazing green thumb with everything she touched. She continued to ballroom dance throughout her 88 years. DeLores was blessed to celebrate 61 years of marriage to Wendell in 2009 before his passing that year.

She is survived by her five children; Cathleen and son-in-law Edward Masterson, LaDonna and son-in-law Gary Fulton, Judy and son-in-law Cesar Castagno, DeAnn and son-in-law Steve Schetne, Alan and daughter-in-law Mary.  DeLores was blessed to have 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

All are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life. The service will be held at 10:30, Saturday, September 2nd, at Mission Hills Church, 24162 Alicia Parkway, Mission Viejo, Calif. (949)586-4510. Inurnment will be private at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif.
