Patricia Guidry
September 25, 1932 ~ December 21, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years OldShare Tribute:
Patricia Mae Cavert was born in Creighton Hollow, Pennsylvania during the depths of the Great Depression. She was third of four daughters born to Robert and Helen Cavert. She grew up in Detroit overcoming a difficult childhood to graduate valedictorian of her high school class. In 1951, while working for General Motors, Patricia met, on a blind date, the love of her life, Rudolph Guidry, a Texas native, who was in Michigan training in the U.S. Air Force. Their union lasted almost 60 years until Rudy’s sad passing in 2010. Patricia’s (or Pat as she liked to be called) lifetime project was her four daughters, Peggy, Patti, Liz, and Mary who were primarily raised in So. California. Most of all, Pat cherished family gatherings of all her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren avidly engaging in her family’s experiences. Pat shared her joys of family, film, music, travel, and the news of the day to anyone who cared to listen. She sure loved to talk! She will be best remembered for her enthusiasm for life, a keen interest in others, and wanting the best for her family and friends. Patricia Guidry is survived by three of her four daughters, Margaret (Peggy) Evans of Hemet, CA, Patricia Hecht, and her husband Jeff, of Placentia, CA, and Mary Hooper, and her husband, Robert, of San Mateo, CA, two sisters, June Hildebrandt of Michigan and Jean Wallace of Utah, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, friends and family make donations to the American Heart Association in honor of Patricia
