LaVon I. Evans Dines

LaVon I Evans-Dines loving wife, mother and grandmother was born in Portland Oregon March 16, 1926, as the only daughter of Ersal and Lena Turnidge. Ersal was a newspaper reporter and moved to a variety of cities in her youth.  When she was a high school senior she moved to South Gate, California with her mother Lena and her father Ersal. In February 15 1948 LaVon married Richard (Dick) Evans after meeting as employees at the Purex Corporation in South Gate California.  They had one son Gregory Evans who was born Sept 4 1958.  LaVon worked as a preschool teacher for 15 years in a private preschool in South Gate teaching 2-3 year olds.  Greg Married Ruth Anderson 3rd Daughter of Ray and Mildred Anderson on March 15, 1986 and they have two sons: Brandon Evans born January 5 1990 and Brogan Evans born January 19, 1991 both grandsons to LaVon.  In March of 1987 Richard Evans passed away following a motor vehicle accident and LaVon then worked as a travel agent flying and cruising to many locations around the world.  On March 12 1994 LaVon married Jess Dines to whom she was married to for over 23 years.  Jess brings to the family two sons’, Gary and Lee along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren

LaVon was a devoted mother and grandmother.  She loved life and filled her cup up fully.  She had tremendous artistic abilities. Lavon enjoying making clothes for herself as well as Greg when he was a young boy.  She enjoyed playing the piano, dancing and decorating cakes.  Her strength and caring for people was unmatched.  She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
