Albert "Gene" E. West

Albert "Gene" West passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at home surrounded by family. He was born on October 18, 1938 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Albert and Lydia West.

He met his wife of 60 years, Deloris West on the dance floor while they were attending high school. They were married February 6, 1957. She was truly the light and love of his life.

He proudly served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an air traffic controller. Shortly after discharge he relocated his family to California and was employed by Utility Trailer as a manager for 41 years.

Throughout his life he was passionate about dancing, singing and making his grandchildren laugh at any cost.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris, his daughters, Debbie (James) Herndon, and Kimberly (Scott) Pinkham. Five grandchildren, Jamie Herndon, Michael Herndon, Brad (Megan Pinkham, Jake ( Lindsey) Pinkham, Chelsea Pinkham and his best dog buddy Patches. At the time of his passing he was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first Great Grandchild.
