Patricia's (G-ma) Life

Patricia Ann Kiley was born on June 2, 1926 in Los Angeles.  She had a twin brother John who passed away at age 5 from pneumonia.

She attended St. Michael’s grammar school, Washington High School and Woodbury College.  She worked as a secretary for the FAA.  She met her future husband Al on a blind date.  They married in 1950 and their first son was born 9 months later.  The first family home was in Culver City where she had 5 more children.  They eventually settled in El Segundo.   Son Stevie was born in 1967.  She had a busy life raising 7 kids.

She loved to play golf and tennis.  She and Al semi retired to Palm Desert in the early 1990's to live the dream!  They had many travel experiences with family and friends.  Too many cruises to count!  We all cherished our time spent in the desert with them.  Many a good memory was made at the Easter and Thanksgiving golf tournaments, a tradition that will mark 30 years this year.  Al passed in 1994 and she moved to Orange County to be closer to family.  She lived the last 10 years of life with son Dave & wife Gina and was able to watch them welcome 2 sons David & Justin whom she loved very much.

She had 16 grandchildren that she adored.  Her eyes lit up when any of those kids walked into see her!

She was a devout Catholic who loved her Lord with all her heart and soul. She was always praying for one of the kids or grandkids.

Her eldest daughter Therese, and youngest son Stevie went to heaven in 1979 and 1980 respectively.  Her heart was broken, but her faith kept her alive, knowing that one day she would be with her children again.  Teece and Stevie got their Mom back!

In 2009 she was diagnosed with cancer.  The past 5 years were spent battling that crazy cancer with Chemo, Radiation, Gamma knife and Dignity.  She lost that battle on Easter Sunday, a most fitting day to go to heaven.  She was surrounded by all her children and their spouses, and she left this world hearing song and laughter.  We love that little lady and will miss her…. always in our hearts…til we meet again!
