CLEMENTINA URIBE 1914-2014
Clementina was born in Laredo, Texas, in 1914. She had a happy disposition that stayed with her throughout her life.
She lived on a ranch near Laredo with her parents and 5 brothers. Her ancestors were among the founders of Laredo, Texas. Her grandfather had been Sheriff of Laredo. Her Dad was a deputy sheriff as well as a rancher.
Clementina and her husband, Mario, were high school sweethearts. They married when she was 23 years old. The marriage was to last 67 years until Mario passed away.
They moved to Southern California in the 1950’s with their children, Mario Jr. and Rose, when Mario Sr. took an aerospace job.
Clementina was primarily a housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and decorating her home. She enjoyed singing, and she loved reciting favorite poems.
She was very close to her husband and children. She loved family life and visiting
extended family members.
Clementina and Mario traveled to Mexico, Spain, and Portugal.
Clementina worked for about a dozen years in retail/retail management. She was very proud of her business success.
Clementina had a very strong faith. She prayed in the morning and evening. She prayed the rosary daily.
In later years Clementina became a loving grandmother to eight and great mother to twelve.
She was called Nana by all of us.
